Giveaways!!

Well, we’ve been having a lot of fun with our progressive sale. And I know a lot of you have too! A large part of why I started Clementine NW is that I truly believe in choosing fun, organic, safe, sustainable products especially for the most vulnerable of us all.
The biggest silver lining in the decision to close the business is being able to provide more people with the option to choose and eco-friendly product that they might not otherwise. I hate that so many fabulously designed products made with fair labor and with a focus on protecting our babies and the environment is cost prohibitive for so many. But, as in so many things, you get what you pay for… unless it’s on sale (everything is still 40% off)!
I also love giving away things for free!
So to get to the good stuff…
We’re going to be giving away a whole lot of great stuff that we’ve collected. We’ve got some Kathe Kruse baby toys, Yes To Carrots body butter, Born Free glass bottles, a fun Boogie Wipes gift basket, and a ThinkBaby bottle with sippy conversion kit. We’re also going to be giving away several free shipping coupons!
So here’s what you need to do to have a chance to win.
You must:
- Leave a comment on this blog post with either your favorite eco-friendly product or best tip for going green with baby. Be creative! (1 entry)
Optional:
- Make a purchase after Feb. 4 on Clementine NW and leave 5 comments here with your order number. All purchases WILL receive a little something extra. If you win a free shipping coupon you can choose to have your shipping costs refunded from your Feb. purchase or use for a future purchase. (5 entries each purchase)
- Share our sale/giveaway and leave a comment describing how you did so with any appropriate links. Use twitter, Facebook, blogs, e-mail, message boards, etc. Please do not spam. (1 entry each method, up to 10)
- Make positive change in your community and leave a comment sharing how you did so. (1 entry for each action, up to 10)
Please be sure that we have a valid e-mail address for you. We will be giving away something every week for the rest of the month of February, so keep those comments coming! Then watch your inboxes each Friday!

We made a positive change in our community by going green…cloth diapers, switching over household products to eco-friendly versions, recycling…doing what we can!

I am a high school special ed teacher. Something positive I did for the community at large is organize a fund raising event with my students. They are selling “Help Heal Haiti” rubber bracelets and donating all the profits to a non-profit relief agency. I love seeing my students (who don’t typically get too involved in the school at this capacity) get so excited and sell their hearts out. The best part for me is witnessing mi kids feel the feelings one feels when doing something to help the greater good. For some of them, it’s the first time for them.

I just came across your company on the internet and love the items you sell. I have shared your website address with my fellow eco-friendly moms who enjoy these types of products. They love the sale!

Best way to go green with baby? Breastfeed! No formula cans or bottle liners to throw away. Best for mom and baby.
February 9th, 2010 at 6:45 am
We make a positive change by using cloth diapers. Much less garbage.
February 9th, 2010 at 6:46 am
We also buy used clothing from Salvation Army and other charities. We support them, get great deals, and recycle at the same time.
February 9th, 2010 at 9:49 am
We have a great arrangement for clothes swapping with a couple of other families. It saves money and shopping time, and it means that the kids clothes get worn out completely (sometimes they go through 6 kids!) before they’re thrown out.
February 9th, 2010 at 12:00 pm
My favorite eco-friendly baby product would have to be cloth diapers. I love putting my baby’s squishy bum in all the wonderful soft diapers out there.
February 9th, 2010 at 12:08 pm
The ways I help go green in my neighbor hood…
I buy local produce as often as I can including honey and maple syrup from our wonderful neighbors.
We recycle and upcycle as much as possible.
We have our own garden and compost our food scraps.
I use green/natural cleaning products as often as I can to keep chemical out of our septic.
I also try to promote and educate anyone I can about doing all the things above as well. I’m sure there are plenty of things I’m forgetting as well.

My favorite eco friendly product are green cleaners (7th generation) and the organic crib mattresses I splurged on for my kids (naturepedic)
February 9th, 2010 at 10:01 pm
My best going green tips are use cloth diapers and wipes, and shop consignment stores for second hand munchkin clothes…they go through them so quickly.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:09 pm
We are going eco friendly by practicing elimination communication with our daughter. Not only do we save a few diapers per day from needing to be washed (we use cloth), but she will also be diaper free at an earlier age than most babies (hopefully!), which will eliminate and extra year or so of needing diapers.
February 11th, 2010 at 10:49 am
I love any sort of wooden toy!
February 11th, 2010 at 3:05 pm
i am all about cutting old towels up into cloth wipes for diaper changes and runny noses.
February 11th, 2010 at 7:05 pm
I’m sorry to hear you’re closing. I love wooden toys!
February 11th, 2010 at 10:06 pm
We use cloth diapers and wipes — clean, green, and good for the babe’s skin.
February 12th, 2010 at 11:09 am
Cloth diapering is my favorite way to go green with a baby!
February 12th, 2010 at 11:25 am
My favorite tip is to air dry cloth diapers – it saves a lot of energy (and a lot of money).
February 12th, 2010 at 3:27 pm
I use old cut up t-shirts or underwear for cloth diaper liners. they’re a lot easier to dump out into the toilet or dunk.

We use cloth wipes for bum changes, soap nuts to wash with, recycle and composte anything possible and talk with our son about saving energy and looking after our environment. He’s just three but reminds us all the time about turning off lights and the tap while brushing teeth – it’s amazing how soon they can get it!
February 17th, 2010 at 7:00 pm
I think breastfeeding is the most eco-friendly thing you can do – and making your own baby food is great, too.
February 21st, 2010 at 4:05 pm
I use the 7th generation chlorine-free diapers, breastfeed, and make my own baby food
February 21st, 2010 at 5:39 pm

February 23rd, 2010 at 12:04 pm
My green tip is to pass along clothing, toys, gear etc and gratefully accept what people pass on to you.
February 24th, 2010 at 3:40 pm
One of my favorite eco friendly products is reusable grocery bags. They are great for groceries but also for so many other things as well. We use them as a toy bag, bag for extra clothes, hauling stuff in from the car, library totes, beach bags, and the list could go on and on.
February 26th, 2010 at 12:35 pm
I’m bummed you’re closing too as I appreciate your mission, purpose and of course products. I pray life has something wonderful unfolding for you at this moment. I just found out I’m having baby #2, YAY! and am excited to use the bamboo liners and wool covers that worked so well for my first. One thing I will do differently this time around is purchase an organic baby blanket and crib toy. My 2 and a half year old is best friends with his blankie and I kick myself for not searching harder to find an organic one.
Be well!
p.s. in the process of opening a green as can be licensed home daycare, thought you’d appreciate that.
the best green tip I have is to communicate to our children why we do the things we do. They feel involved and purposeful and the phrase “grow like weeds” can mean the most beautiful things for this world. joy.
February 26th, 2010 at 12:37 pm
That was long. sorry, but I’d like to post one more to say thanks again for what you’ve done.

Breastfeeding is the greenest thing we do, abd the next greenest has been cutting up our falling apart towels to make cloth wipes.
February 28th, 2010 at 10:27 am
I go green with my toddler by using old burp cloths as napkins!! They are much sifter and clean up better!!!!
February 28th, 2010 at 10:29 am
I made a positive change the other day by helping some lady @ the casino who could not find her hubby! I got her food for her and walked her around because she was using a walker!
February 28th, 2010 at 10:30 am
I went outside the other day and picked up 3 garbage cans that had blown down the street in the snow and ice! It was positive because no one lost their can or hit it!!!
February 28th, 2010 at 12:54 pm
My favorite eco-friendly product is definitely cloth diapers. I love them and wish I would have switched sooner.
February 28th, 2010 at 6:54 pm
I won last week but can I enter again?
We make a positive change by walking to our downtown in nice weather instead of driving
February 28th, 2010 at 7:20 pm
The baby is playing with the same toys his father had as a baby.
February 28th, 2010 at 7:42 pm
My best green tip is recycling. It’s true, its so easy to pass things on from oldest to youngest! I can’t tell you how cute my daughter is in her big brother’s Carhart overoveralls!
