I experienced a great moment this weekend, which even in that moment seemed like something out of Sesame Street. You know when they show kids or families at peace with themselves and the world, put to some happy music? That’s what it was like.
My mom and aunt had taken my boys to the park on Sunday. I went and met them there after getting the baby down for a nap. The sun was shining, the air was warm with a cool, crisp autumn breeze, the leaves were all red, orange, and yellow. It was a perfect fall day.
When I got to the park, my oldest had already collected a bunch of big leaves into a small bag. My mom was on strict orders to take good care of them while he went off to play since he was going to sell them later. After a while of playing he came back for his leaves and decided to go sell them.
First he gave one to my aunt, then one to my mom, and one to me. But he didn’t stop there. We watched as he went up to a little girl swinging on her tummy and hand her a leaf. She took it and kept swinging with the leaf in her hand. He continued on to her mom, more kids, and adults. He even recruited another little boy to help him hand out the leaves. After a while we looked around and everyone in the park had one of his leaves in hand.
I really wish I had had my video camera. I really wish you could have seen it. It really was just this perfectly simple moment of people enjoying the day, being outside, and really just indulging a 4 year old’s desire to give everyone a leaf and a piece of himself in the process. I could almost hear the music drowning out all the other noise…
Maybe this will inspire you to see/allow/create your own Sesame Street moment. Come back and share yours!

So due to the fact that I have hardly been able to connect to the internet 1) I have not been able to post about anything of late, 2) Clementine NW has not had to shut down and open up again more brilliantly than ever, and 3) I have not been able to have the fun Halloween giveaway yet. So…. please bear with me and all of this will be remedied this week!
